1/2 triathlon
Yesterday was the day of the half triathlon. One of my summer projects is to survive the legendary triathlon (3.8km swimming, 180km cycling, 42km running) and to achieve that I wanted to try 1/4 and 1/2 first. I’ve been a bit sick and haven’t trained so much latelly but after all it went pretty well. Swimming time was 56:58 which means 2.00km/h average speed (in 1/4 I had 2.21km/h speed, 1.5km). Transition from swimming to cycling took only 5:30 and cycling 3:24:47, As 26.70km/h (28.46km/h, 40km). Second transition took longer, 9:22, because I was quite dead and wanted to give me some break. The last part, running, I thought to walk but because I felt quite strong I tried to run now and then. In the end the running time was 2:18:12 As 9.16km/h (11.99km/h, 10km) which made me more than happy.
The final result is thereby 6:52:49. I’m satisfied and looking forward to the full one. Actually I’m quite scared of it… doubling yesterday’s exercise would be mega tough and easily the hardest sport challenge of my life so far. I hope to get some company to compete with me, otherwise I might move it to the next summer…
